Formula 1 Lay Down to Adjoin second US Race on streets of New Jersey- 2013

Formula 1 is set to have two grands prix in the United States from 2013, with plans for a race around the streets of New Jersey expected to be confirmed as early as next week.
Although F1 is returning to the US for the first time next year with an event in Austin, Texas, Bernie Ecclestone has made no secret of the fact that he would like another event in the country - with his preferred location being New York.

High level sources have revealed that the plans have now reached fruition, and an announcement is expected to be made by New Jersey governor Chris Christie and other local politicians next week.
It is understood that the New Jersey GP will take place in June 2013, so it can be a back-to-back race with Canada, which will then leave the Austin event to keep its place at the tail end of the schedule to tie up with the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Last year, the Mayors of Weehawken and West New York revealed that they were in the preliminary stages of talks with a group of investors to hold a grand prix in the area from as early as 2013.
It is not confirmed where the track will be, but it is likely to run along the banks of the Hudson River - using the waterfront and the iconic Manhattan skyline as a backdrop.

The Wall Street Journal reported on Saturday that a press conference has been scheduled at Port Imperial in Weehawken for next Tuesday, where an announcement could be made.

On the Verge of Greatness is Vettel?

Anything you may think about Sebastian Vettel, surely there can be no disagreement that he deserves the 2011 title more than anyone else? F1 drivers rarely harmonize each other but the charitable praise from Vettel's rivals say the lot about his appearance as a worthy champion.

They might not have said that a year ago when Vettel came out on top at the eleventh hour, his 2010 season marked by blinking displays of superiority and peevishness. Five wins had to be offset by the controversial incident with Mark Webber in Turkey, the basic error behind the Safety Car in Hungary and the misjudgment when irritating overtaking Jenson Button in Belgium. In my view, the spinning point came right here in Mokpo, venue for this weekend's Korean Grand Prix. The Vettel who returned on foot to the pits was not only philosophical but also aware that his mechanics and engineers would be as dissatisfied as he was, particularly when Fernando Alonso went on to score his third win in four races and become challenge preferred. The mistake would be to conclude that just since Vettel has won nine races so far this year; it's only because of Adrian Newey's genius.

Sebastian Vettel reached the victor in Japanese GP

Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel firmly won the Japanese GP to keep his slim title hopes alive but championship leader Brawn's Jenson Button stayed in control. Button pounced on an early tangle up ahead to finish in eighth, although a late safety car denied his Brawn team being crowned constructors' champions. The Englishman now leads the title race from team-mate Rubens Barrichello, who came seventh in Japan, by 14 points. Toyota's Jarno Trulli snatched second at Suzuka ahead of Lewis Hamilton.

Vettel led from start to finish after defending his pole position from reigning world champion Hamilton off the start. The young German grabbed 10 points with a stunning drive and now sits 16 points behind single-point scoring Button in the championship with 20 to play for. Ferrari's in-form Kimi Raikkonen finished fourth at the famously demanding figure-of-eight circuit ahead of Williams driver Nico Rosberg with BMW Sauber's Nick Heidfeld in sixth.

Vettel Wins Title, but unfortunately Button Wins Race

In winning the drivers’ title at the Japanese Grand Prix on Sunday with four races left, Sebastian Vettel has extinguished any doubts about just how good a driver he is. With nine victories and 12 pole positions this season, he is the youngest double world champion ever. He rose quickly, had such precociously good results in Formula One since he began racing in 2007, that there has not been enough time to consider how much was his ability and how much was his car.

One thing became certain this year, however, and that is his extraordinary maturity. It was only after the race in Suzuka that Vettel suddenly looked a little like the lost student at the front of the class. But the maturity in racing was certainly one of his strongest points.

He added that Vettel also has control of his emotions that allows him to avoid silly mistakes. But that was almost compromised at both the beginning and the end of Sunday’s race. He entered the race needing one point to win the title, or hope that his last rival, Jenson Button, of McLaren Mercedes, did not win another race. At the start Button attacked, and Vettel defended so harshly that he sent the British driver into the grass at the side of the track. As the race neared an end, with Button leading, Vettel attacked aggressively to try to take second position from Fernando Alonso in a Ferrari, occasionally looking like he might crash out.

Just in 60 seconds, Formula 1 to 270 kmph!

Speed, sound, smoke and glamour this sunny Saturday afternoon, a distinctly different set of thrills took centre stage at Rajpath. More than 10,000 people gathered on the prestigious stretch to get their first glimpse of how exciting burning rubber would get when Formula 1 races into India on its inaugural leg on October 28.

When nattily dressed and a rather bemused by the Indian ovation, Red Bull reserve racer Daniel Ricciardo stepped into his speed machine RB7 to show what it actually means to touch 270 kmph in a matter of seconds, it was gathering at noon with smoke balls mounting up to cloud the India Gate.

Bhangra beats merged effortlessly into a high-octane rendition by Indian Ocean. Celebrities joined the familiar man in their worship of the ultimate and maiden speed show on Indian roads. Ricciardo, considered the fastest rookie driver ever, who replaced our own Narain Karthikeyan in F1’s Hispania team, joined the very Indian drumbeats before giving the Capital its first taste of F1 proceedings.

The crowd which lined up on either side of Rajpath comprised Red Bull Racing fans, Formula 1 enthusiasts and curious onlookers, VJs and some Bollywood personalities too.
